Tanishq · Mriganka

A jewellery launch,
told as a journey
through the sky.

The launch page for Mriganka, a handcrafted gold collection from Tanishq inspired by a magical realm in the sky.

A palace with golden domes floating on clouds, between two smaller floating islands, under a lavender and blue sky

A collection that
needed a story.

Tanishq is one of India’s best-known jewellery brands. Mriganka is its handcrafted gold collection inspired by a magical realm in the sky: a world with its own glow, full of floating palaces, mystical birds and impossible flowers.

The pieces are ornate and unusual. The launch page had to make them easy to understand, and worth a visit to the store.

Two realms.
One collection.

The collection has two design stories, so we gave each one its own chapter and its own sky: daylight clouds for the palaces, a starry night for the birds and blooms.

Both chapters work the same way. A scene sets the mood, then the jewellery explains itself.

Timeless Wonder:
palaces in the sky.

The first realm is architecture and sky: castles and palaces floating on drifting clouds. In the jewellery that becomes sculpted 3D palace pendants, cloud-blue enamel and strands of beads.

Craft terms mean little on their own, so we put the explanation on the piece. Small markers sit on the necklace, and each one opens a short note about that exact detail, beside the palace that inspired it.

Realms of Bloom:
phoenix and lotus.

The second realm is flora and fauna, led by the phoenix and the lotus. In the jewellery that becomes wings in flight, flower forms and coloured stones set in gold.

The page changes mood to match. Day turns to a starry night, and the same markers return on a new necklace.

From sketch
to jewel.

To show how a piece is made, we split one pendant down the middle: finished gold on one side, the designer’s pencil sketch on the other. Beside it sit the three ideas behind the design, each with its own small drawing.

350

hours of handcraft by Tanishq went into this one piece. The page states it right beside the pendant.
